About Belderrig Bronze Man

The ‘Bronze Man’ is a race around Belderrig Village, in County Mayo, that includes a swim, cycle and run. The race is open to anyone over 16 years old, male or female, who thinks they are up to it!

You will need a reasonable level of fitness to compete, and some luck to win. For those of you who have not trained properly you are going to have to depend entirely on luck!

We wish you every success.

The objective of the race is participation! It is not about winning or loosing the race but about enjoying the day whether you are a contestant or a spectator.

The Belderrig Bronze Man Champion will win the perpetual ‘Bronze Man Sword’ which will be on display in McHales Pub. There will be a male and a female Champion. The Race will be followed by an evening of food & music in McHales Pub.

The cost of participating in the Belderrig Bronze Man Race is €20. This must be paid in cash on the day at the Research Centre in Belderrig Village. No Cash – No Race. Once you have paid you will receive your numbered armband.

On behalf of the organising committee we wish you a great race and look forward to cheering you on.
