Course Map

The Race will begin with a swim from the shore across the bay to the pier.

Then, run to the bridge, get on your bike and lap the village via the pub, and back round by the school, to the bridge.

The final leg is a run following the same circuit as the cycle and finishing at the old boat house.

A FEW SERIOUS GUIDELINES FOR THE DAY:

  • Please ensure you are fit to take part. If you have any aliments, injuries or heart conditions etc. do not enter this race.
  • The cost of participating in the Belderrig Bronze-Man Race is €20. This must be paid in cash on the day at the Research Centre in Belderrig Village. No Cash – No Race. Once you have paid you will receive your numbered armband.
  • For the Swim we strongly recommend you purchase goggles and a light pair of swimming shoes to avoid slipping on the rocks at the beginning of the race and also for you assent up the slip of the harbour.
  • For the Cycling part of the race you are responsible for arranging to bring your own bicycle for the race. Bicycles will not be provided by the organisers.
  • For the Cycle you must bring your own cycle helmet. No Helmet – No Race.
  • You can nominate one helper to hold your bike at the start of the cycling race at the East side of the bridge.
  • The Organising Committee and Marshals will be easily identifiable in High Visibility Vests. There will be a water rescue team in place and first aid should you get injured.
